The Pan American Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (PANCCO) originated from an idea in 2011 due to the particular interest of gastroenterologists from various Latin American countries such as Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela as well as Canada in order to join efforts for the academic and scientific consolidation of the area of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in Latin American countries.
